Just 19.4 million Americans have received the updated COVID booster so far, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
“Not enough people are getting it,” the president said, as he called on “all Americans” to get their shots “just as soon as they can.”
Flanked by his COVID team and executives including from CVS CVS, -2.72% and Rite Aid Corp. RAD, +15.57%, Biden noted that there are still hundreds of people dying daily from the virus, and said the number is likely to rise this winter.As MarketWatch reports, so far just 19.4 million Americans have received the updated shot, which targets the original virus along with the omicron variant and its subvariants, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
