Currently, 16 states are experiencing an average price of gas of $5.00 or more. That includes Maine , Massachusetts , New Jersey , Pennsylvania , Michigan , Ohio , Indiana , Illinois , Idaho , Alaska , Hawaii , Washington , Oregon , Nevada , Arizona , and California . California’s Mono County appears to be reporting the highest gas price average in the Golden State — $7.213.
Brent crude, the global benchmark that U.S. prices tend to trend with, was up 1.13 percent at the time of this writing to $121.70. West Texas Intermediate crude futures were up .84 percent following this news, reaching $120.25. While Democrats are following President Biden’s lead in deflecting blame and attempting to distract Americans with other events — such as the upcoming primetime January 6 hearing — all indicators point to rising gas prices as a top issue on the American peoples’ minds as they head into the midterm election.just 27 percent approving of Biden’s handling of gas prices, as nearly three-quarters, 72 percent, disapprove. That reflects a four-point rise from the 68 percent who disapproved in April.
