Democrats are still trying to figure out what went wrong for them at the ballot box that gave President-elect Donald Trump aand led to Democratic losses in the Senate that cost the party its narrow majority.

Biden’s decision to drop out came with just over 100 days to go until Election Day, well after states had gone through their primary process and with a small window for Harris to map out a vision for the country’s future. Some have argued that giving her more time or having the party go through a traditional primary process could have helped the ticket perform better against Trump.

While Trump’s margins are smaller than it initially appeared after being declared the winner overnight of Election Day, he made significant in-roads with several blocs of voters that have traditionally backed Democratic candidates. He alsolike New York and New Jersey, won more support from working-class Americans and expanded gains with Latino voters.

“The challenge we have is we need to put forward a bold vision of how we’re going to move the economy forward, make the economy work for every American. To me, the existential question is if you, working hard in America, can you still earn a good living? And too many people doubt that that's possible,” Schiff said.
