Since the pandemic, millions of jobs have been added, and therate has returned to around where it was in 2019. However, the labor force participation rate has not fully recovered.
The report found that, if the labor force participation rate were fully back to pre-pandemic levels at the end of 2023, there would be 2.1 million more workers in the labor force, and out of those missing workers, 530,000, or 25%, are Hispanic.that polling indicates the state of the economy is the most important matter for Latino voters.
Garza said that the dearth of workforce participation adds to other economic woes suffered by Hispanic voters, especially high inflation and high interest rates.
