President Joe Biden awarded the Presidential Citizens Medal to former Rep. Liz Cheney , R-Wyo., during a ceremony at the White House on Thursday. Cheney received the award for her work on the House Select Committee on the January 6 Attack and for 'putting American people over party.' Biden presented the medal to Cheney , and the two exchanged words as press members photographed the interaction. Twenty people were given the medal Thursday, including Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss.
