Beyoncé and other prominent entertainers are donating millions to aid communities impacted by the devastating wildfires in Southern California.
Singer Beyoncé is leading a wave of donations from the entertainment industry to aid Southern California communities devastated by wildfires. Beyoncé announced on her Instagram page on Monday that her BEYgood Foundation will donate $2.5 million to wildfire relief efforts. The funds are earmarked to assist families in Altadena and Pasadena who have lost their homes and to support churches and community centers in addressing the immediate needs of those affected by the wildfires.
Several other performers have also stepped forward with significant contributions. Metallica announced Monday a $500,000 donation from its All Within My Hands Foundation, which will be divided equally between the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund and the Pasadena Community Foundation’s Eaton Canyon Fire Relief and Recovery Fund. Actress Eva Longoria pledged $1 million to relief efforts from the $50 million Courage and Civility Award she received in 2024 from Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. Longoria has 10 years to decide which organizations to support with the award money and has already announced a personal donation of $50,000. Longoria’s $1 million donation will benefit both the California Community Foundation and the Latino Community Foundation, led by former U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julián Castro. Her $50,000 donation will be matched by This Is About Humanity for similar efforts. Actress Gwyneth Paltrow, whose Malibu home was destroyed in the Palisades Fire, pledged $100,000 from her 11:11 Media Impact non-profit and another $100,000 in matching donations to help displaced families with young children. Other entertainers who have pledged donations include actor Michael Douglas, reality TV star Betheny Frankel, and various members of the Kardashian family.
