During her acceptance speech for Album of the Year, she forgot to thank her youngest daughter, Rumi Carter, who contributed vocals to the album. Beyoncé quickly rectified the omission backstage, dedicating a heartfelt shout-out to Rumi.
The Grammys 2025 was a memorable night for Beyoncé — she finally got her AOTY win, reigned in the country category, and, in the middle of it all, forgot to thank her youngest daughter, Rumi Carter, on stage. But like the Queen Bey she is, she quickly corrected the situation backstage with an equally meaningful shoutout.
However, the superstar had a tiny slip and forgot to mention her daughter Rumi, whose vocals appear on Cowboy Carter's 'PROTECTOR' while accepting the long-deserved award. Speaking to ET backstage, Beyoncé lamented not mentioning Rumi during the speech and gave her a redeeming shout-out, saying: “I'm so happy that was here and Rumi, who was on the album, my youngest daughter, she was watching. I forgot to thank her, so I can thank her now.
