Friday is the last day of early voting in Tuesday’s primary runoff.Tuesday’s primary runoffThirty-five voting locations in Bexar County will operate from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. — except for the Bexar County Justice Center site, which closes at 6 p.m.
About 4,755 Democratic and 3,700 Republican ballots have been cast on average daily throughout the county, although early voting is known to increase on the last day. The Parman and Brook Hollow branch libraries on the North Side have had the highest Republican vote totals, with nearly 400 ballots cast daily. Lion’s Field Adult and Senior Center near downtown and McCreless Library on the Southeast Side have had the most Democratic ballots cast — more than 250 daily on average.
Registered voters in Bexar County who did not participate in the March 1 primary can vote in either runoff. Voters who cast a ballot in the primary cannot switch parties when voting in the runoff.Jessica Cisneros in Congressional District 28, as well as contested statewide races for lieutenant governor, attorney general, comptroller and land commissioner. A runoff for county judge between State Rep. Ina Minjarez and former District Judge Peter Sakai has generated a lot of interest locally.
On the Republican side, incumbent Ken Paxton faces Land Commissioner George P. Bush in a race for Texas attorney general, and Elisa Chan is competing against Mark Dorazio for District 122 state representative, seeking to replace Rep. Lyle Larson, who did not seek re-election. The GOP ballot also includes contested races for land commissioner and railroad commissioner, along with Bexar County Republican Party Chairman John Austin’s bid for a second two-year term against challenger Jeffrey R.
