Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said the shooting death of a teen was at a 'takeover' party at a vacant, newly built home on far West Side
A teenage boy is dead after he was shot during a roving party that included more than 100 high-school-age teens in far West Bexar County . Landyn Reyes , 17, was found dead Sunday when the party disbursed as deputies arrived around 1 a.m., Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said. “He was a young man who hadn’t even started his life yet,” Salazar said during a news conference Monday afternoon.
Teens could be seen holding various types of high-caliber weapons from handguns to rifles, waving them in the air to the sound loud music. “That right there is a recipe for disaster,” Salazar said. “It’s a whole bunch of young people drinking, probably … using narcotics.” Some were holding drinks, while a girl — who Salazar said is most likely underage — was dancing on a table. The guns were all most likely stolen from people who left them in unsecured vehicles, the sheriff said.
