One bettor was agonizingly close to winning a massive $68,000 payday from a three-leg parlay, but opted for a cash out in the fourth quarter before Zach Ertz scored his second touchdown of the game in overtime. Malik Nabers of the New York Giants and Mike Evans of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers both scored two touchdowns on Sunday, and if Zach Ertz of the Washington Commanders also scored twice, the bettor would have won a life-changing amount.
Before the Commanders-Falcons game kicked off, the cash out offer was $1,700. Ertz failed to find the end zone in the first half, but that changed in the third quarter with a 10-yard TD catch. At that point, the cash out offer was less than $600 with just one quarter to go. Ertz was at five touchdowns for the entire season, not an ideal stat to hope for another. The bettor had already cashed out a previous leg of the parlay for almost $7,000 when Ertz scored his first touchdown. However, the bettor decided to let the last leg ride, accepting that Ertz would not catch a second touchdown, and cashed out for $500 in the 4th quarter. Then, in overtime, Ertz scored his second touchdown, leaving the bettor with a sense of crushing regret. Twitter, known for its lack of compassion, did not offer much solace to the bettor, who ultimately walked away with $590.
