Electric vehicles are in a transition period of sorts, as their technology, engineering, and manufacturing continue to rapidly evolve. To the consumer, that means plunking down your hard-earned cash can be a gamble, even as some automakers offer enticing.

And because so many of them are all-new models, you often don’t have a clear idea of what their reliability is going to be five to 10 years down the road, so pulling the trigger on an EV at full MSRP can be a tough call. Given all that uncertainty, right now, your best bet may be picking up one of the models on our list of the best used EVs. Sure, your posterior won’t be the first to grace the driver’s seat, but these vehicles have known reliability records and have already been thoroughly vetted in the real world. EVs tend to depreciate aggressively, so your dollar can go further if you buy used. Although the cabin looks cool, some materials aren’t as premium as we’d expect from a luxury SUV. Finally, driving range falls off when you step up to the dual-motor models.. This popular sedan has excellent driving manners, good range, and quick charging. The infotainment display is responsive and packed full of features. Thanks to its default compatibility with the Tesla Supercharger network, it’s almost as easy to live with as a gas car.The refreshed Model 3, introduced for 2024, is far more refined than the initial version of the sedan offered from 2017 to 2023. Even though Tesla offers a lot of standard equipment on the Model 3, it’s missing some features found on other vehicles on this list. There’s no instrument cluster or head-up display available, for example.has found itself in as it enters the market following the ubiquity of the Tesla Model 3. Fortunately, it’s a great alternative. It’s very fun to drive, boasts an extraordinary driving range, and charges at a blistering speed. The twin 12.3-inch displays are large, legible, and easy to navigate. There’s a lot to love about this spacious sedan.While the Tesla Model 3 is anonymous, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 stands out with a wild, controversial design. The interior uses eco-friendly materials, but the cabin is over-reliant on hard plastics. Despite the Ioniq 6’s midsize sedan body, cargo volume trails rivals.benefits from a sleek and futuristic look. The EV6 has a competitive driving range and lightning-quick charging capabilities. If you want supercar acceleration, there’s the powerful Kia EV6 GT. The cabin is forward-looking in its style, as well, with impressive dual 12.3-inch displays.As handsome as the EV6 may be inside, its button layout is clumsy. There isn’t much headroom in sunroof-equipped models, either. Rear-drive models can go far with a full battery, but their lackluster acceleration is off the pace from what we’ve come to expect from EVs.draws inspiration from the angular cars of the past for its forward-looking approach to transportation. It handles well and is offered with several powertrain configurations. Charging is superfast, meaning you’ll spend more time on the road.
