EastEnders - Roxy and Ronnie Mitchell’s tragic drowning In real life, weddings are usually causes of the utmost celebration, but when EastEnders favourite Ronnie Mitchell tied the knot with Jack Branning on New Year’s Day back in 2017, it soon became a tragedy. Still dressed in her wedding dress and veil, a double tragedy soon hit as Ronnie struggled against the cumbersome material of her gown, prompting her to drown too alongside her sister.
Swearing revenge, Eva proposed to Aidan and plotted to bleed him dry by spending all his money on an expensive wedding. Perfectly matched the couple seemed virtually unbreakable - or at least that was until he began an affair with Eve Jenson. But in an unexpected twist, when it came to saying their cows, Chas refused, as she declared to the entire congregation: “I won't be faithful because you haven't been faithful to me!"
Everything about the big day had initially gone to plan, right up until the moment Tracy gatecrashed the wedding after leading everyone to believe Roy Cropper was the father of her baby. As regular viewers will know however, that romance didn’t last, with Steve now happily married to Tracy instead. As the big day finally came, Ben was able to pluck up the courage to tell his dad what Stella had done, even despite her threatening the youngster and warning him to keep his mouth shut.
Although the episode always hinted that Phil may have pushed her, subsequent episodes ended the debate when Phil revealed she had simply fallen from the roof to her death.
