PETALING JAYA: The Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) disciplinary body will launch a probe against deputy president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir and youth chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman for not supporting party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, if there are any reports against the duo.
Its chief Tan Sri Megat Najmuddin Megat Khas said the disciplinary board is prepared to launch an investigation against them to check if there is any case against the two top leaders.
He was asked to comment on calls to probe Mukhriz, who claimed that Bersatu never endorsed Muhyiddin as its choice to be prime minister. The party's deputy president also said that the onus was on him to inform the party's grassroots that Muhyiddin did not have the council's endorsement, and that Dr Mahathir was still party chairman.Meanwhile, Syed Saddiq had reportedly said that he was firm on his stance not to work with Umno.
