Bersatu MP calls for special sitting on Zahid’s DNAA

Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal says an explanation on the deputy prime minister’s conditional discharge is important as the AG’s credibility is being questioned.

Bersatu MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal submitted the emergency motion to the Dewan Rakyat Speaker yesterday.

PETALING JAYA: Bersatu’s Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal has called for a special sitting to be held at the Dewan Rakyat so the attorney-general can explain deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s conditional discharge over corruption charges.In a Facebook post, Wan Fayshal said he submitted an emergency motion to the Dewan Rakyat Speaker yesterday.

He had been accused of embezzling millions of ringgit from his foundation, Yayasan Akalbudi, and accepting bribes for various projects during his tenure as the home minister between 2013 and 2018. The decision, however, drew brickbats, with activists, party leaders from the unity government as well as the opposition demanding an explanation from the AG.
