UC Berkeley professor Ron Hassner kicked off a sit-in protest 9 days ago, in response to the university administrators’ neglect in protecting Jewish students. On day 9, I had the chance to meet him and a group of Jewish students on the UCB Campus.Of course, much of the university’s staff shares equal, if not more, blame for these attacks.
Perhaps the most vile incident was at an elementary school named after Malcolm X. A teacher instructed second graders to write messages like “stop bombing babies” on sticky notes and slap them on the door of the school’s only Jewish teacher.
