Options available for both light and dark room settings
Yours for $2,999 and available to pre-order towards the end of this month is the BenQ HT4550i. This is positioned as the most ‘serious’ home theater projector of BenQ’s new quartet, offering people with dedicated movie rooms a 4K resolution, a four-LED DLP lighting system capable of putting out 3200 ANSI Lumens of brightness, and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color spectrum.
Rounding out BenQ’s new projector quartet will be the $1,799 TK860i. The return of the ‘i’ at the end of this model’s name shows that it again carries Android TV and preloaded Netflix. Since this model is designed for use in “any bright room”, though, it’s the brightest model of the group, claiming a massive 3,300 ANSI Lumens of light output which is claimed to power 98% of the Rec 709 color scape.
BenQ has also announced today three new models for the UK: The W4000i, the W2710i and the TK860i. The specifications available for these models so far suggests that they’re essentially the same, at least internally, as the US’s HT4550i, HT3560i and TK860i models, and BenQ has confirmed that they will cost £2999, £1,699 and £1,699 respectively.
The UK will also offer £100 cheaper versions of the W2710 and TK860 that ship without the Android dongle. The UK’s new BenQ models are actually all available already - but there’s no word yet on a potential UK release for an equivalent model to the V5000i.
