Bengals star Ja'Marr Chase spoke to the media and set a deadline for his extension, as well as an update on his Week 1 status.
We are only a few days away from the first Sunday of the new NFL season and the Cincinnati Bengals still aren't sure if star wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase will suit up for the opening game. Chase has been dealing with a contract dispute all offseason but has practiced with the team in recent days. However, his status for the game has been up in the air.
There have been reports that Chase wants to beat out the contract that former LSU teammate Justin Jefferson received from the Minnesota Vikings this offseason. But Chase somewhat pushed back on that narrative'I'm not really looking to go a lot higher. It's not really me trying to beat him out and me trying to go crazy. It's just what's right.'Within his comments, Chase also mentioned that he believes a deal will get done, whether it's this year or next offseason.
