He initially took on numerous comprimario roles, supporting the leading stars. However, he steadily rose to prominence, eventually performing major roles such as Philip II in Verdi's 'Don Carlo' and the title character in Verdi's 'Falstaff,' which he considered the pinnacle of his career. His versatility and commitment to his craft earned him widespread admiration and cemented his place in opera history.Beyond the Met, Plishka graced other prestigious stages, including Milan's Teatro alla Scala, London's Royal Opera, and the New York City Opera.
