Steve Burton shared with his followers that he will be taking a brief break from ABC’s General Hospital. “Hey everyone, I wanted to share that I’ll be taking a short break from General Hospital,” he wrote on Instagram. “I’m newly married and looking forward to spending some quality time with my family. I’m grateful for all the support and will be back this summer. Much love.”This personal decision follows Burton’s marriage to chef and content creator Michelle Lundstrom on May 17, 2025. His final episode has already been filmed, with his last day on set happening on February 6. However, due to the show’s production schedule, which tapes several weeks in advance, viewers will continue to see Burton on screen for some time before his character’s absence is written into the storyline. The show’s executive producer, Frank Valentini, has expressed full support for Burton’s decision.
