It's unclear whether Lilah Pate , Kelsey Rose Healey , and Jocelyn Shelfo will reprise their roles in season 2 — but one beloved cast member from season 1 recently confirmed that they will not be returning.
Minnie Mills, who played Shayla, Steven's love interest, posted a simultaneously heartbreaking and heartwarming goodbye to her character in an announcement post to Instagram on April 19. “First and foremost, I want to say thank you to Shayla," wrote Minnie, posting photos of her time on theset. “Playing Shayla was such a privilege, she taught me so much and helped me grow not only as an actor, but as a person.
