It's been 25 years since tragedy hit the city of Bellingham after the Olympic pipeline explosion killed two boys and a young man.On June 10, 1999, a fuel line ruptured in Bellingham , spilling 277,200 gallons of gas into two creeks and causing an explosion, killing 18-year-old Liam Gordon Wood and two 10-year-old boys, Wade King , and Stephen Tsiorvas .
“We didn’t know what the situation was until we got to Harborview Medical Center. We had rushed home, we just missed seeing Stephen, and as we were going home, the ambulance was going the other way," said Williams. “I’m glad this is here to make people realize that this happened 25 years ago, and this is like a reminder, like a memorial for the people that have died," said Brian Pickering, who lives in Bellingham.
