The Melbourne Storm have two players sent to the sin-bin during their 18-8 loss to Manly, as coach Craig Bellamy labels his team's performance as 'dumb'.
abc.net.au/news/nrl-craig-bellamy-scathing-of-melbourne-storm/102227122Melbourne Storm coach Craig Bellamy says his players only have themselves to blame after going down 18-8 to Manly at Brookvale Oval on Friday night. The Sea Eagles scored two tries to one against the StormThe loss saw the Storm drop to sixth on the ladder ahead of the completion of round seven, while the Sea Eagles jumped to second place.
The Storm restricted the Sea Eagles to just two tries, but Bellamy said the scoreline could have been much worse for the visitors."We got what we deserved tonight. To keep them to 18 points was a good effort. "But we just didn't give ourselves a chance to win the game. Our second half was really poor. We didn't play too smart at all."
The story of the match was the clear feeling and physicality between the teams, with three players — including Storm pair Tui Kamikamica and Justin Olam — sent to the sin-bin and a total of five placed on report. More players were removed from the match than during 2011's infamous "Battle of Brookvale", when both Glenn Stewart and Adam Blair were sent off.
