It's been 'a real bane for residents'

An alleyway in Belfast, described by residents as “West Belfast’s worst”, will be cleared and cleaned, the Department for Infrastructure has said.

The Department for Infrastructure will now clear the alley of "years’ worth of overgrowth, litter, and debris".Speaking about the local issue, Gerry Carroll said: "I am delighted that the Department for Infrastructure have finally taken responsibility for this alleyway. "Too many of Belfast’s alleyways are in desperate need maintenance. Statutory agencies need to invest more in routine maintenance and they need to do more to recruit and retain workers tasked with the upkeep of our alleyways."
