YOUR chance of getting coronavirus could be much higher if you are obese, doctors have warned.
At the time there were 194 patients in ICU with coronavirus, across the country. That number is thought to have soared in the last few days. Being obese can affect the body's immune system and increase inflammation, meaning the immune system finds its harder to also fight against the effects of coronavirus at the same time.
Last week, the government updated their list of "high-risk" people with those who are obese with a BMI over 40, as well as anyone who is pregnant.
