Bailey is grouped with seven running backs. The first drill is the bench press. Bailey skips the bench again, as his shoulder just isn’t where it needs to be. So he becomes an encourager. He slaps the back of Kansas running back Dylan McDuffie with both hands, pumping up McDuffie.Bailey nods in approval. As much as this pro day is about him, it’s also about showing talent evaluators what type of person you are.
Bailey wears red gloves for the shuttle and three-cone drills. He carries the football during footwork drills. He catches passes on wheel routes, where a runner leaves the backfield and races down the sideline.“I was trying to find it in the lights,” Bailey said. “And it came down and was ahhh. I was ‘Let me go again.’ It could happen again in a game.”When the workouts are over, Bailey conducts interviews with NFL Network and national and local reporters. He doesn’t look tired.
