9 The Curse Of The Set The Exorcist Hailed as one of the most terrifying movies ever made, The Exorcist also became famous for the curse that apparently interfered with its production. The making of the film was plagued by a series of eerie accidents and unsettling events that left many questioning whether the movie had invoked supernatural forces. The production took longer than expected and the cost became three times higher than the original budget.
The original plan for the special effect was to use a prop knife with a tube squirting fake blood. However, after a series of unsuccessful takes, Hansen secretly removed the protection from the knife and cut Burns’ hand, much to her horror and pain.
