Chalk one up to that good, watchful neighbor.
In a separate incident, police received multiple reports of a barefoot man attempting to hitchhike in the middle of the roadway. More than 24 hours later, police found a Jeep on Hogsback Hill possibly involved in a related car accident from the same time frame.A resident reported that their neighbors were out of the country and could not be reached immediately by phone after they had left their garage door open on the night of Oct. 16 -- with a Porsche and an Audi parked inside.
Radio logs were sketchy but it appeared first responders located someone near the Polo Field entrance just before 9 p.m. who was possibly transported to Hillcrest Hospital with minor cuts. But police could not locate a car possibly involved in a related accident and sent out a bulletin to surrounding departments around 4:30 a.m. Oct. 22 that they were still looking for a blue 2014 Jeep Patriot from the earlier time frame.
Then just after 1 a.m. Oct. 23, patrol officers reported finding a car at the top of Hogsback Hill that was possibly connected to the earlier accident, with no further details and the investigation continuing.Police requested a K-9 unit for a consent search of a car stopped around 10:15 p.m. Oct. 21 but apparently found no contraband, citing the driver, 20, only for having no operator’s license.
