Beetlejuice 2 will finally feature the return of the ghost with the most, but this 30-year late sequel breaks another gap in Tim Burton’s filmography.
Beetlejuice 2 is the first Tim Burton sequel to grace the big screen in a long time. With Warner Bros. announcement regarding Beetlejucie 2's theatrical release date in September 2024, Burton fans are excited to see him direct another feature film. While Burton had success with Netflix's Wednesday, he hadn't directed a feature film since 2019's Dumbo.
Beetlejuice 2 Is Tim Burton's First Directed Sequel Since Batman Returns In addition to the 30 plus year wait for a Beetlejuice sequel, it has been 31 years since Burton directed a sequel. After Burton's huge success with 1989's Batman, he also directed the sequel, Batman Returns in 1992, which didn't perform as well at the box office as the first. The sequel to his 2016 Alice in Wonderland, Alice Through the Looking Glass, was produced by Tim Burton, but not directed.
