Bed Bath & Beyond filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Sunday. The retailer will close two of its namesake stores in San Diego County and two Buy Buy Baby stores.
Bed Bath & Beyond, a retailer that supplied most items on college dorm checklists and was a go-to for wedding gift registries, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Sunday.
“Millions of customers have trusted us through the most important milestones in their lives — from going to college to getting married, settling into a new home to having a baby,” said Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. CEO, Sue Gove in the company’s announcement. “We deeply appreciate our associates, customers, partners, and the communities we serve, and we remain steadfastly determined to serve them throughout this process.
Other store benefit programs such as “Welcome Rewards” and merchandise credits can be redeemed by customers until May 15. The company expects that customers can use gift cards until May 8.
