The signatures were obtained by a firefighter being recognised for his services on the same day as the band.
A complete set of Beatles autographs, obtained by a firefighter receiving his MBE on the same day as the band, has sold at auction for £7,400.
He collected the signatures for his daughter Joy, 12, telling the group: "I don't know what she sees in you."Joy, now 70, said the autograph book had been "tucked away for years" and she felt it was time to pass it on to a collector. The 57-year-old, Staffordshire-based buyer, a life-long Beatles fan who wanted to remain anonymous, said: "It was the story behind these autographs which did it, you can't fault it."
