Christiansen’s goal, his first of the playoffs, came from above the left face-off circle and beat Hershey goalie Hunter Shepard. Hershey forward Joe Snively appeared to have won it with 50 seconds left in regulation when he took a feed from defenseman Chase Priskie and beat Monsters goalie Jet Greaves from close range to break a 1-1 tie.
Eventually, Cleveland forward Owen Sillinger beat Shepard with 2:46 left on a shot from the right face-off circle to the goalie’s left. Monsters forwards James Malatesta and Steffan Matteau assisted on the goal.The Bears didn’t have defensemen Aaron Ness and Lucas Johansen or forward Pierrick Dube available.
