More than two years after Houston's Stage Stores sold its intellectual property, including national naming rights to its small-town chain of Bealls department stores, in a bankruptcy sale, the Bealls brand will get a boost.
The Bealls location in Marble Falls, Texas, recently switched out its name from Burkes Outlet. The chain's Florida-based parent company acquired the name from Houston's company Stage Stores out of bankruptcy. Bealls Inc., a Florida company that was not part of Stage Stores, will change the name of its 83 Burkes Outlet stores in Texas to Bealls by the end of 2023. The rebranding includes two stores near Houston, in Porter and Sugar Land.
