With schools opening their doors for a new year full of learning, Beacon of Hope is making sure students, staff, and families are prepared for the new school year.
Schools can be overwhelming with loud noises, chatter, bells and activities going on in every corner. This can cause what is referred to as “sensory overload,” which triggers a sensory sensitivity and can hinder behavior and academic focus. Making new friends, regulating behaviors and communication their needs isn’t always easy for kids with autism.
