) - Labor Day is seen as the unofficial end of summer. People still headed to the beaches to celebrate the holiday as the season begins to wind down.
As Gulf Shores welcomed beachgoers for another Labor Day, the biggest change this year is to the pockets of visitors. This year is the first Labor Day without tolls. The Foley Beach Express Bridge went toll-free back in May and beachgoers have been taking full advantage of it.“It’s a beautiful day out here for Labor Day. The waves look good,” said beachgoer Marty Leda. “You don’t always get a chance to do it like this, so I’m out here. I got out here a little bit late, but it’s still good.”
