Fans have hit out at Doctors producers for pulling the plug on the long-standing medical drama, which won't return to screens until September due to 'budgeting issues'
BBC soap Doctors is to be taken off air for several months, sending fans of the medical drama into a frenzy.
A spokesperson for the popular TV soap - which sees staff at the Mill Health Centre and Campus Surgery saving the lives of their patients while balancing their turbulent personal lives - announced the same day that Doctors would be taking a break. Unhappy fans of the show have been quick to express their dissatisfaction with the explanation given by bosses at the channel, with several taking to Instagram to hit out.
It was then that the individual behind the Instagram account replied: "It's due to budget issues - the BBC doesn't provide Doctors with enough budget for them to produce episodes year-round like they used to [sad-face emoji]".
