Dad to the rescue!
Sally Nugent was ‘rescued’ from difficult man by Helen Skelton’s dad Sally Nugent is a familiar face for most viewers of BBC Breakfast but unfortunately this comes with the risk of persistent fans. The 52-year-old journalist is one of the top presenters on the BBC, recently urging Chief International Correspondent, Lyse Doucet, to safety amid the broadcast.
She continued: ‘Sally Nugent is obviously a stunning lady, she has an army of admirers. ‘Let’s just say one bloke was getting too familiar and he kept trying to have a picture and pick her up. ‘And my lovely stoic dad stepped in and basically said, “I think that’s enough” and I think ever since that moment, my dad has been an inadvertent security guard.’ Sally was at the time married to her now-ex husband Gavin Hawthorn, 52, who she was with for 13 years before splitting in May.
