BBC Breakfast experienced an awkward moment on Tuesday when a sound glitch interrupted their interview with Olympic champion Tom Pidcock. The technical hiccup occurred while Tom was speaking from Paris, leaving hosts Sally Nugent and Ben Thompson scrambling to fix the issue. Sally had to step in with an apology after the sound problems became apparent during the live broadcast.
Look at that fabulous gold medal. That race it must have felt a little bit like a dream sequence of times.' 'You could say that. Yeah. It was a bit of a whirlwind, that's for sure,' Tom responded. However, as Tom struggled with the audio, he remarked: 'Well, it didn't go as planned as you were just explaining but it was....some race...yeah.' Sally light-heartedly suggested, 'Ok maybe a nightmare, not a dream,' as the interview came to an abrupt pause.
