BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty was forced to interrupt Friday morning's show to bring viewers news of a 'massive IT outage' affecting services all over the world
During Friday's edition of BBC Breakfast, Naga Munchetty interrupted regular broadcasting to bring viewers important breaking news. She kicked off by saying: "Good morning. It's Friday the 19th of July and we have some breaking news to bring you."
Her co-presenter Charlie Stayt chimed in with: "The London Stock Exchange is being affected we are told. Microsoft is reporting a major worldwide outage and just look at some of the reports coming in. This is affecting a lot of airlines.""I'm just seeing, Ben, that Spanish airports are reporting problems as well...we're just trying to get a sense of the scale of the problem right now.
The anchor then went on to say: "Airlines, supermarkets, TV news channels, and banks around the world are affected by this massive IT outage thought to be linked to Microsoft and business computer systems." "A reporter at The Telegraph says all their PCs in the newspaper office are down...that's what we know so far in the UK, but it's also causing huge problems in other parts of the world."
