BC and ITV to launch bargain BritBox streaming service at end of the year
NETFLIX rival BritBox will launch in the UK in the last three months of 2019 – and cost just £5.99.
"They are also happy to pay for this ease of access to quality content and so BritBox is tapping into this, and a new revenue stream for UK public service broadcasters."It's positioned as a "multi-genre service"and will include multi-series drama boxsets and "thousands of hours" of British TV. BritBox was first announced in March 2017, and already operates in the US and Canada – where it supplies a regular stream of popular British programming.
Shows currently available on the US BritBox include Casualty, Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Holby City.
