An investigation is underway after a couple was killed in an apparent murder-suicide at a home in Baytown on Friday afternoon, according to the Baytown Police Department.

The incident was reported around 2 p.m. after a third party received a call from a man who stated he had just killed his wife and was contemplating suicide. Officers arrived at the home in the 200 block of Southwood Circle and found a woman, believed to be about 30 years old, near the front door of the residence suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers immediately attempted lifesaving measures; however, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
