Kekalahan Leipzig itu bermakna Bayern tidak mampu digugat ketika saingan Liga Jerman masih berbaki dua perlawanan. Biarpun Bayern ketika ini sedang mendahului Borussia Monchengladbach 3-0, namun apa pun keputusan tidak akan merubah kedudukan mereka selaku juara selepas mengumpul 71 mata daripada 32 perlawanan, tujuh mata mengatasi Leipzig.
Dua bintang muda England, Jadon Sancho membantu Dortmund menumpaskan Leipzig untuk menduduki tangta keempat liga.
