GERMAN chemical giant Bayer said yesterday it had agreed to pay more than US$10 billion to end a wave of suits from Americans who say their cancers were caused by its Roundup weedkiller. The deal relieves a major headache for Bayer, which has been going on since it bought US firm and Roundup maker Monsanto for US$63 billion in 2018.
