In preparation for the storm’s arrival later in the day on Jan. 4, the California Highway Patrol has issued a rain advisory. It anticipates flooding, landslides and harmful winds. “Previous rainfall and soaked ground has increased susceptibility to flooding and rapid runoff, and numerous areas have been placed on flood warning status,” the CHP wrote in aMotorists are advised caution if traveling and to expect road closures at any moment.
