Archbishop Mitty badminton player Laila Wang is the Bay Area News Group’s girls high school athlete of the week for April 22-27.
In online voting that ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Wang had 31.82% of the votes. St. Francis softball player Peyton Tsao finished second at 29.66%. Wang, a sophomore, swept each opponent in two sets, holding each of them to eight points or fewer. Wang was awarded the No. 1 seed in girls singles for the league finals.
