The cracking complicates things, because it’s like the fruit is splitting. It could be a good sign — or not. This is where timing and getting to know your tree comes in handy. If the fruit is cracking around the time it should be maturing, then it’s likely because it’s ripe. Pick one and give it a taste test. Splitting early in the season is a sign of a water issue.
