More than 60 retail shops and restaurants are in Capitola Village, the entirety of which is closed as public safety officials assess damage in the area.
Several businesses in Capitola Village, as well as the city's wharf, have sustained significant damage after this week's storm and flooding, city officials announced Thursday.
"The first thing I want to do is express my condolences for anyone who has lost property or sustained damages during this event. It's obviously a very tough time," said Jamie Goldstein, city manager of Capitola, in a press conference Thursday.
