Kaizer Chiefs got their much needed boost when they won the Soweto derby in their last outing in the DStv Premiership.

Amakhosi beat Orlando Pirates 2-1 to secure an important three points and bragging rights for their supporters. But while coach Staurt Baxter admitted that winning the big derby would be a boost, he was aware that his team needs to be more consistent.

But, with their supporters believing that the side had caught on some form and their team could mount a serious challenge for the title, they lost to a less fashionable Stellenbosch FC. Amakhosi are on 15 points and are sitting in sixth position. It would take some stumbling from Masandawana and Amakhosi finding and keeping form for them to get back into the race for the title.

They will have to be at their best to get anything out of former coach Ernst Middendorp’s hard-running side. After that they will be at home against AmaZulu who have also disappointingly struggled for form in domestic football this season.
