Batman is known for having flashy and militarized vehicles, but a new cover shows him with a motorcycle that's a bit more road-friendly. 'Batman: Killing Time' is an action-packed heist story, and Bruce will need some serious speed to catch his prey.

Although he has a wide variety of vehicles at his disposal, there's probably no better recognizable one in Batman's fleet than the Batmobile. However, some recent covers suggest Batman's going to be using a motorcycle more often. This can be seen primarily on the cover to Batman: Killing Time #3. The issue, which is set for release in May, will be written by Tom King and illustrated by David Marquez.

Killing Time is a very plot-heavy story that focuses a lot on the Batman's villains as they undertake a complex and strategic heist. The first issue features Killer Croc, Catwoman, the Riddler, and the Penguin as they all work together to steal an unknown historical object from a very secure safety deposit box. These characters aren't thrown in there by chance, as they all have a very specific role to play tailored to their particular expertise.

This motorcycle design for Batman is a welcome shift and fits more in line with the style of the Batmobile featured in the recent Robert Pattinson film. In The Batman, the Batmobile resembles a muscle car. Although it's certainly amped up and Batman-esque, it's a far cry from the large tank-like Batmobiles seen in the Dark Knight Trilogy and the DCEU. Similarly, the motorcycle used in the Dark Knight Trilogy was a unique creation that one would never see on the road today.

Coincidentally, or perhaps not, a movie tie-in variant cover for Batgirls #4 by Jonboy Meyers features Robert Pattinson's Batman on a motorcycle as well. This book is currently out to promote the film, but the trend still stands. It seems DC Comics is having Batman shift gears from more obscure and abstract vehicles like his traditional Batmobile to modes of transportation that are a bit more mainstream and can be driven by the average rider.
