Bassey finished his 12-minute Spurs debut with nine points, four rebounds, and two demonstrative blocks against Toronto’s Malachi Flynn. Bassey finished his high school career in Kentucky and played two college seasons at Western Kentucky.The 76ers selected Bassey in the second round of the 2021 NBA draft. Back in his former town, Bassey is relishing the chance to contribute to the team he once rooted for from the AT&T Center stands.
“It’s the best thing for the young guys, so they can see what they’re doing well, what they can do better, that sort of thing,” Popovich said.
