Authorities have set up special emergency courts to investigate violations of the state of emergency.
Sudanese President Omar Bashir has put the blame on those killed during ongoing anti-government protests in Sudan on the protesters themselves.
In his first speech before Sudanese lawmakers in the parliament following the state of emergency he imposed in late February, Bashir said the economic crisis had negatively impacted a wide section of the population. A number of buildings and offices belonging to the ruling National Congress Party were destroyed during the first few days of protests which erupted on December 19.
